StrokeMidnight
Hey, I wasn't exactly sure where to put this, so I thought here might be best. I installed Kalyway 10.5.2, but I'm having trouble doing a retail install. I started to wonder if it was worth it to do a retail install. I'm on an i7 machine and OS X is reading all 4 cores (shows up as 8 cores in activity monitor) and is reading all 9GB of RAM. It's running all my programs like Logic, EWQSLO, Final Cut, etc, so I wonder: Is there any reason I should keep trying to do a retail install? LonelyTV
Is there any reason I should keep trying to do a retail install? There are plenty of good reasons why you should do a retail install, I'm sure I won't hit most of them. For starters it allows you to update your machine freely with "Software Update" and not have any worries of it over writing your modified KEXTs which could break your install. Also, in my experience my retail installs on both of my machines have been more stable and faster than using the distributions. As I said, I'm sure there are plenty of other reasons, but these are the two big ones for me. StrokeMidnight
Hmm so I can update the entire OS X operating system without worrying about it breaking my system? The problem I have is that when I try and run the patcher in the tutorial I was using I kept getting a grey screen of death :-/.
