I have 580 GB on my hard drive. I allocated 121 GB to a new partition and I named it Mac. I formatted it to FAT32 because I thought that was what you needed to install iAtkos v7. When I booted from the DVD, I started the process. A problem occurred when it asked where I wanted to install it. None of the partitions were shown. I went into Disk Utility and I saw my hard drive, along with its 3 partitions. When I click my hard drive, I get the option to partition it. I chose GUID and I tried to partition it. The only problem is that it wants to use the entire 580 GB for the partition and it wants to delete my 3 partitions. I tried to change the partition size but it wouldn't let me do that. I could click on it and it would be selected and highlighted blue but I can't change it. I just want to install it on the Mac partition. I read somewhere that I had to format it from FAT32 to HFS+. I have no clue how to do that. I used Partition Wizard Business Edition to partition it and format it from NTFS to FAT32 in the first place. I had no option for HFS+. I don't want to delete my 3 partitions and I just want to install the OS on the Mac Partition I allocated 121 GB to. How can I do this? Also, when I clicked on the Mac partition I created, or any of the three partitions, it says not mounted in the details at the bottom. When I click mount on the top, it says I have to repair it first with first aid. I tried that but that did nothing.

OS X should read FAT32 and NTFS formatted volumes.......is your partition a primary or logical partition......to boot from OS X you need a primary partition......for most people, MBR is a safer bet than GPT since PC BIOS is naturally MBR oriented rather than GPT which is EFI oriented......

The partition was primary. I tried to format the partition via GUID, MBR, and that Apple thing on the disk utility. None of them allowed me to format a partition. All of them only allowed me to format the entire hard drive. That's something I don't want to do because it will erase my recovery partition, my windows partition, and my empty mac partition. I just want to install iAtkos v7 on the empty Mac partition but when I select the partition, I don't get any option to format just the partition. When I select the hard drive as a whole, a new option comes up that says partition. If I select that, it asks me to format the entire drive. I don't want to do that.
