Bodom78
Hey Guys, Preformed a successful install of iPC OSx86 10.5.6. After the installation, it asks to reboot and this is where I kind of got stuck. It just boots in to Vista again like normal. I tried using EasyBCD to set up a selection for the leopard install, but selecting this on boot up gives me a EBios Read Error looping over and over on the screen (I read a lot of people having this issue before trying to install, not after a successful install). The Leopard install is on a separate physical drive from my default Vista install. The second drive is a 1.5TB drive and have partitioned to chunks below 1TB as I read this could be the issue but it did not help. Used CPU-Z to check out my hardware against the wiki compatibility list and all seems to be OK: * Core 2 Quad Q6600 * P5K Deluxe * GForce 8800 GTX * 2 SATA HD's and DVD Drive Any info or suggestions on how to proceed next would be appreciated. Cheers. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180021-after-leopard-install-boots-back-into-vista/ Share on other sites
Bodom78
I just went through and tried a few more installs but with modified BIOS settings based on what I could find was recommended around the boards. Still the same EBios Read Error, but rather then spamming the screen at around 1-3 seconds per message, it was much slower at around 5-15 seconds per error message. Bodom78
Just tried iATKOS_V7 and the same thing, a Successful install and EBios error trying to boot into Leopard. Any ideas? Bodom78
Finally got iATKOS_V7 to run. I plugged my DVD drive SATA port into another slot, and made the OSX partition the first on the disk and kept all the partitions below 1TB. Re-ran the install and got a double panic, so I set some Bios options to match similar settings found in posts around here and it booted up, also set up duel booting with EasyBCD. Being new to the OS, it took a little while but I was finally able to install some Nvidia Drivers for my card (Duel Screen now working) Off the bat, sound, internet, networking, usb all worked. Some small issues I still need to sort out like power down not shutting down the PC, but I've seen some topics on that. Will most likely try the 10.5.8 update soon as well. Looks like the silent treatment on here worked Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/180021-after-leopard-install-boots-back-into-vista/#findComment-1229220 Share on other sites
