Hi everyone,

I have a strange issue on Safari on my Mac OS 10.5.6 install on a Acer Aspire One netbook.

It appears that I am the only person on Earth not being able to use tabbed browsing feature of Safari and I suppose that this problem exists because I installed Mac OS X on a non-original Mac machine.

Every article I have found on the Web, says go to Safari -> Preferences -> Tabs and click the option "Enable tabbed browsing". How strange, I don't have such option there.

I have the latest 4.0.3 Safari downloaded from Apple but the option didn't exist on Safari 3 either. Here are the only options I have:

where all tutorials and articles on the Web say that there is an extra option "Enable tabbed browsing" that I am missing... Here is what I should have on the above window:

The result is that I can't use tabbed browsing, as all links with the target=_blank attribute are opened in a new window instead of a new tab.

Any idea how to add this option? Thanks

Update:

After searching a lot I have found that it is a general problem with Safari 4 and I found a solution that involves using the Terminal to fix it.

Here is the solution I found in case anyone needs it:

Now all new window links open in a new tab.

btw, it appears that I posted the question in the wrong section of the forum, my apologies, I am new here :)
