antonyfl
I was on the fence between buying an Macbook Pro or getting a PC laptop. I wanted to test out the OSX software because I have never used it before and i thought the safest bet was to test it on my current PC before i made a decision. I got iatkos v7 and burned it on a dvd. Impatiently and noobily, I failed to read the instructions on installing it onto a PC and jut popped it in, rebooted, and then booted by dvd. It was working so far when the install boot loader popped up and i just pressed for normal install. The apple logo then popped up and a waiting wheel turned for about 5 minutes. Then my computer shuts off and then I wonder wth just happpened. Now my computer does not boot up at all. It doesnt even go to the DOS screen ><. I was wondering if anyone can help me with this or have had a similar problem? I have a intel core 2 duo and a P5N-SLI motherboard. I dont really remember the ghrtz of the processor and I would look it up but i THINK its the E6500. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Skyper
only suggestion i can think of right now is to remove the cmos battery from the motherboard and pop it back in and see if that helps. geiman
yeah, could be your cmos got corrupted which seems likely since it just shut off. Thats weird though how it just shut off without warning; my laptop would sometimes do that when installing, but that was because speed step didn't work until I used my patched dsdt file, so during an install and then until I got everything setup my laptop would get so hot that it would just shut off to prevent the cpu from burning up. Not that this is your problem, but it's something to think about.
