chandan
HI all, First of all, to all users who have been getting the "STOP" sign on boot after the install has finished smoothly, dont panick. Just try different combinations and it will work eventually. It happened to me, when i was trying to install iAtkos 10.5.7. The install would appear to finsh smoothly, but on boot i would get the apple logo with a spiining wheel and then a stop sign. After reading through a few articles i decided to do a fresh install with different options chosen at customize section, same results. I then proceeded to do several fresh installs with different combos and i finally got it to work on my 6th re-install (some patience!!). So if you are getting it to install, it means its going to work just choose the correct settings thats all. Now, here's my problem, a very simple one but i hope someone could show me how to do it- Once the Mac installed, I went on to complete a dual boot with my existing vista and no probs there either. Mac working excellent, no issues, graphics, sound, internet... nothing missing. Then i logged on to Vista, and all was fine. But then i noticed every time i logged on to Vista and then to Mac, the Mac would give me a "Chain Booting Error". I again looked at some solutions online and booted with the Mac DVD in the rom and it worked a couple of times but then even that failed. I decided it must be Vista doing something to the Boot (i really dont know whats happening there) so guess what!! - I decided to dump vista for good and use only Mac. So i erased the Vista partition as well as the existing Mac with a clean install of iAtkos 10.5.7 again and re-installed only Mac. Chose the same settings as before and all's working beautifully again. The only pain in the neck (or lets say, a minor irritation), is that every time the computer starts, i get the Windows Boot Manager now asking me to choose which OS i want to log into, Leopard, or Windows Vista. Choosing Leopard, of course takes me to the Mac without any issues while choosing Vista of course does nothing. Since i want to keep only Mac, how can i get rid of the Win Boot Mngr so the machine straightaway logs into Mac without showing me the OS choices on start. And when i erased the vista partiton while installing Mac, shouldnt the Windows Boot Manager have gone too...? I guess there is an optin somewhere from Mac (the terminal maybe, but i dont know the commands yet as i am fairly new to Mac) to do that. Any help would be appreciated. And thanks for being patient through this really long post. -regards Brainstormer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179945-iatkos-1057-working-like-a-charm-now-a-question-however/ Share on other sites
