Black Screen before Boot

I installed iDeneb 10.5.6 on my friends computer. It installed successfully, but once the boot loader comes up, and once it says Loading HFS+, the screen shows the apple, yet it never boots. I also tried the -v flag, then it says Loading HFS+, and the screen goes black, but the hard drive led blinks.

Ive tried NvDarwin, NvInject, and nvkush as well as the nforce driver.
