As an attempt to coax my family into ditching windows i have been working on setting up their laptop to run osx. Using the iAtkos 10.5.7 disk i successfully installed osx.

 

There are however a few things i have not managed to get functioning. First is the sound driver. Using the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext i managed to get sound working via the laptop speakers but not headphone jack. The jack is important as they wish to use this laptop as a pseudo-htpc from time to time.

I have tried various methods posted on this site with little luck.

 

The second issue is the graphics drivers. The laptop supposedly uses the intel GMA945 chipset. The current install i have has the graphics displaying at 1024x768 as the only res and no QE. Also apps such as plex display as a white box and the iWork suite displays the document as white, not even showing text/images in templates. (i assume this is due to the graphics issue.

The kext i used was the one found on the iAtkos dvd and my attempts to find a better solution have all lead to dead links.

 

Has anybody had experience working with this laptop or one with simmilar specs. Or even better, non-dead links to the required kext files?
