Hey all,

I'm a new hackintosh owner. I've installed kalyway 10.5.2, using default settings and the amd patch. Booted up with -x because of hd 3870 issues, found 3870 drivers on http://osx86.radeonhd.eu

Main board: ga-ma770-ds3

Cpu: A64 X2 4850e

My problem is that I don't have on-board audio working.

As I understand it there are several options: (none of which I have the details to do)

1. Dump linux sound drivers and use those (somehow ?)

2. Get someone else's linux driver dump, and use that

3. Find the appropriate kext and use the appropriate tool to install the driver

I'd prefer 3, as 1 and 2 will probably be only marginally successful (linux drivers are usually very spartan functionally). Any help would be appreciated.

Ah, 21 people have found the hidden easter egg in my post: An invisible 4th option, called WhoGivesaRipItsNotMyProblemStupidNewb. Very cunning of you all, I thought I had hidden it well.

Well, as I've often said, "Screw you, Pikachu!" I've developed some usb issues from installing the wrong atheros drivers for my wifi card. I'll try the ipc ppf5 final disk instead.

I am kinda in teh same boat as you, i have a GA-MA770-UD3 which is very similar to yours and i cant get the sound to work now, i got it to work before but i messed up my HDD and had to reinstall and now i cant find the kext that made my sound work. I installed VoodooHDA and now i have a very strong static when sound "tries" to play im still looking for a fix(or the kext i previously used, there were just so many i tried and now i seem to find even more)
