Hello, I have searched for a resolution to this issue, but everything I find is related to ide vs sata dvd drives. I have a USB DVD drive that I am trying to install iDeneb from. When I boot from the CD, it just hangs at

system config file 'com.apple.boot.plist' not found

I have verified that the md5sum is correct and I have even used this same exact disk to successfully install ideneb on my hp mini 1000.

What I am asking is does anyone know how to overcome this? Either by a workaround for the dvd or how to create a usb disk I can boot from? Thank you in advance.

As a workaround you could use this method.

A similar, quicker workaround (if you have a USB disk of 8GB or more and an exisitng OSX install somewhere) is to use Disk Utility to partition your USB into 500MB plus the rest. Do the right click "Get Info" thing to untick the "ignore ownership" property for each partition. Then use the Boot Think 2 installer package to install BT2 to the first partition and use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your retail DVD to the larger partition on the USB drive. I like this way because there's no need to bother with terminal, it is really quick and it works. I still keep an 8GB drive set up this way as a "just in case everything goes wrong" option.

Thank you for your input, I overcame this by restoring the ideneb image to a usb drive and then used netkas' pc-efi installer to get it bootable. I have since installed OSX and now have to determine all the kexts I'll need to get past the "still waiting for root device" messages.
