hola!

 

i was searching the forum but couldn't find any solution, which fits my problem. althou i'm quite sure the solution is out there:-)

 

 

 

i have a 10.4.8 running on two opteron 265, but system profiler shows: Total Number Of Cores: 2

it should be 4 not 2!

it's a great hardware and i got nearly everything to run but this anoying processor problem.

 

pleaaaasssseee help me with the link or a hint where to find an answer.

Hi. Did you try Leopard on your machine, Zepyroth 10.5.2 or others? I had similar problem on Tiger with two Opterons, only one Cpu was recognised

no i'm so glad it's working, so i didn't dare to install another osx.

 

but if you say the problem will be solved, using a newer os - i'l try. (on another hd)

 

a friend told me about a simple setting - where i may set cpu=1 to cpu=2 - but i only find this in combination with bios settings. (which, i gues, is wrong, cause my other os (win & linux) work perfect with the same bios settings)

do you know something about this?

maybe it's only a setting in the os, which is in tiger per default 1 and in the higher os set to 2 or multiple or something...

 

do u have a iso 4 me?
