CubsFan1980
I've hit a wall... Here's what I'm rolling with: - Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 - Foxconn Renaissance LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard -GIGABYTE GV-R485MC-1GI Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video I've had no luck on over 50 hrs of install tries here is what I've done. First of all, I have a dedicated Western Digital RE2 WD1601ABYS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive It's the only thing plugged in. I changed the Bios from IDE to ACHI. I have tried to install iDeneb 10.5.7 (2 different isos) and I get the continuous reboot. I tried every f8 boot code: -f -v -x cpus=1 cpus=1 v- cpus=1 -f -v -x Nothing works. I have can some success with iDeneb 10.5.6 This installs, however after install does not load. I get the continuous reboot... I've tried the default kernel (vanilla) I've tried voodoo 9.5.0 I've tried chipset CH I've tried seatbelt I've tried disable firewire drivers I've also tried -f -v -x cpus=1 cpus=1 v- cpus=1 -f -v -x Nothing...just keeps rebooting. I also got Kalway 10.5.5 to install but it also continuously reboots. Also messed around with different kernels the default and the voodoo beta 2c and chipsets ICHx_Dune. To no avail. I think i got the farthest with Kalway Looks like kernal won't load I've also tried IAtkos 10.5.7 i can't get this to install either. Reboots right after darwin. Any help would be much appreciated. I've been pulling my hair out the last few days. I think if I can somehow get the iDeneb 10.5.7 to work it has a lot of the drivers I need. But I can't get it to load! :censored2: :censored2: :censored2: :censored2: :censored2: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/179257-ideneb-1057-foxconn-renaissance-i7-install-problems/ Share on other sites
BlackDogCop
just try "-v cpus=1 busratio=20" this is for i7 920, for 940 busratio=22 and for 9xx(ex edition, just forgot the busratio value, just google it ;P) Don't forget to configure you bios to only use 1 cpu core and disable HT support and VT. I got to install with that, but still stucked on 1st boot. Full installed but unable to boot anyway. Just a lot of tries with iATKOS(got to 1st boot hangs) and Leopard retail unsucesfully.
