Nesagwa Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 I've noticed recently that whenever Im on a page with any sizable animated GIFs Safari will lag badly or just give me a pinwheel and not respond anymore. From my google searches this seems to be a problem going way back (had some hits from 2006 with the same problem) stating that this was a problem with Webkit and how it renders things. Now the question is, is there a way to fix this maybe, or at the very least set Safari so it doesn't auto load / animate animated gifs? I looked in the prefs and couldnt find any option for it.
