hello guys!

 

i've tried to install iATKOS 7 on my PC and i always get the "waiting for the root device" message after the dvd booted. i'm completely new to mac scene and also to that "turn your pc into mac" stuff, but i'd love to get OSx running on my holy box.

 

i'm currently also downloading the iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 in hope this one might work..

 

 

 

well, here's what i'd like to know..

 

1.)

had anyone luck on installing any OSx86 distro on a similar or same box as mine? (see signature)

if so, how you did that? which distro? which boot flags you've chosen? any information would be great!

 

2.)

on the supported hardware list on osx86 website i couldn't find my motherboard and some other devices. are they supported? and how/where to check that?

 

3.)

i have currently 2 ntfs partitions (windows vista, storage) and i've got 50gb of free disk space on which i want to create partitions for OSx.

is it possible to install OSx while having windows vista on the first primary partition? and what happens with master boot record? will OSx overwrite it? and can i get vista back into the new bootloader which will be installed by OSx? or do i have to completely erase all partitions to setup OSx?

update

 

well, the iPC version i mentioned above went slowly to the install part where i was able to choose some packages and drivers, but before the installation part began, an error poped up which said unable to read from the dvd.. which was burned at slow speed and the md5 hash of the iso was identic with provided. any suggestions?

i can't afford a real mac right now, so this would be an ultimative solution.. please help
