christopherb
Hi, I'm reading through a DSDT patch guide right now and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I need to update Chameleon as well so that it supports DSDT.aml, or if the version of Chameleon 2.0 that comes with iatkos v7 will just support it natively. Does anyone know off-hand? take care, c Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178566-patching-dsdt-with-iatkos-7/ Share on other sites

Beerkex'd
Chameleon 2.0 will load your DSDT.aml if it's at the root of the drive/partition that it's booting, or if it's placed in /Extra on the partition that Chameleon 2.0 is installed to. Either way there's no harm in trying. Consider the following.. Logically, if your system boots without DSDT.aml it should continue to boot fine even if you put DSDT.aml in the wrong place or if the version of Chameleon 2.0 that you are using doesn't support DSDT.aml for some reason. If you don't trust the version of Chameleon that you are using, just install the official one on top of it. christopherb
Thanks! I just went ahead and updated Chameleon, which seems to be working fine, but I can't tell if it's loading DSDT.aml and it's not configured properly (as I can only boot with cpus=1 with an i7/9.8.0 vanilla). I guess I'll just go from here and keep trying to get it working Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178566-patching-dsdt-with-iatkos-7/#findComment-1220402 Share on other sites
christopherb
Still no luck. This is what I am doing: Next, get DSDT patcher from here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=133683Run the DSDT patcher program, and when it asks about Darwin or Windows, enter 0 (Darwin). After the program is finished, a new folder called Debug will be created. Inside the Debug folder, there will be a file called dsdt.dsl. Open it with TextEdit and you will see near the beginning many entries for Processor and Alias. Delete all of the lines with Alias and then save the file. Move dsdt.dsl out of Debug into the main folder of DSDT patcher. Delete the dsdt.aml that is already in the folder. Next, open Terminal and cd to the DSDT patcher folder. Run the program with dsdt.dsl as the parameter ( ./DSDT\ Patcher dsdt.dsl ). A new dsdt.aml file will be created when the patcher finishes. Rename it to DSDT.aml and then move it to the root of your OSX boot drive. Is there anything else I should be doing? I still can't boot without CPUS=1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178566-patching-dsdt-with-iatkos-7/#findComment-1229335 Share on other sites
