Alright so... after many attempts of trying to install Leopard, I finally got it to work.

I used the Chameleon bootloader with the ToH Kernel, since those were the only options that were able to run on my PC.

The problem is, I'm trying to use programs such as JDownloader and FreeRapid Downloader to download games, but it says I need Java 10.6, and the only way I can do this is through updating.

I've tried regularly updating before, but it basically crashed my system after rebooting, and I had to reinstall Mac.

What is the proper way to update while having the Chameleon bootloader with ToH Kernel?

Please any help is greatly needed.

[EDIT] Anybody? I'm kind of a noob here. /:

is it only available through OS X Software update?

From Software Update or you can download the Java updates directly from Apple's website.

If you're running Leopard with a patched kernel and need to update it make sure you have done as outlined here:

Hi,

thanks for your reply!

I'm running 10.5.6 and at the moment I don't want to update the OS as I'm afraid that it couldn't work after an update(maybe later)

I just need to update the Java to 1.6

Where can i manually download the java from the apple's website? I didn't find anything.

Thanks a lot!!

Come on...it's easy to find with google. Just google OS X 10.5 Java Update or whatever.

But it doesn't matter, the minimum requirement to install it is still 10.5.8.

If you have a spare hard drive, use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your existing install and start experimenting on getting it up to 10.5.8.
