latexgurl Posted May 19, 2006 Share Posted May 19, 2006 hi I want to know if anyone has been able to get osx86 10.4.5 or .6 to boot from an SATA Drive? I have an Intel 945 GCZ and it sees and uses the SATA drive well as an extra storage but because of the speed increase I am interested in running the system from the sata drive? bluedragon1971 Posted May 19, 2006 Share Posted May 19, 2006 I've used it on mine before. Worked fine. I only swapped the drives because I needed more space for XP. I didn't really notice much if any difference in speed though. On it, I have three OS's, OSX86, XP and SuSE 10.0. then i have two other ata drives with fat32 partitions so that I can share and swap files between different systems. Works like a charm. I did not use ntfs because OSX canot write to that system, only read.
