i updated my firmware about two days ago. today, i downloaded bootcamp and tried to get it working. however, when i try to use the bootcamp assistant, it tells me a need to update my firmware. when i try to update my firmware, it tells me it's already updated. so...dubbayew tee eff?

Did you go and download the specific firmware update....because the firmware update it refers to doesn't show up in the Software Update...

http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/

The one you want was released of 4.17.06 ... if it doesn't work; just below that, there is the download for the firmware restoration CD.

Okay. Now don't make fun of me because i just got a Macbook Pro 2.0ghz 1gb 100gb hdd yesterday. What all is involved with that firmware rollback? Are there any ramifications at all? Or is it kinda like a restore point rollback for your firmware?

Aright, i downloaded the firmware restore cd and tried following the instructions....

Here's what happened...

I did the hold down power button thing and the LED on the front flashed rapidly like the instructions say but instaid of it doing the 9 flashes after that, it just emits this god awful beep (the speakers not LED of course :graduated: ) and it boots into osx.... so i'm like WTF?

Anyways... any more help would be appriciated... if i have to wait for a new version of bootcamp or wait for leopard i will. But i'm sure as heck not going to use the restore cd that came with my MBP. You can forget that in a heartbeat. Anyways... thanks in advance for your help...
