Nate Shoffner
Last night, I was going for a quad boot, I was following the guide here. The only problem is, I have an AMD processor and a SATA hard drive. I successfully installed XP and Vista with no problems. I downloaded and burned Zephiroths AMD 10.5.1 installation and it starts up fine. The only problem is when I try to format the partition I have dedicated for OSX (FAT32) I get an "input/output" error. I'm guessing this is because of the lack of SATA support. I've seen around the forum, that people have had success with SATA hard drives. Should I be using a different release or what? Here is my system info: AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core 7550 NVIDIA NForce 320GB SATA 3GB RAM Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/178045-leopard-amd-cpu-and-sata-hard-drive/ Share on other sites
Australisk
Tried going into your motherboard settings (BIOS) to change the SATA mode? I remember not having lucky natively once but changing to legacy IDE solved the problem. Maybe that's your problem? On another note, I've sort of given-up on OSx86 at the moment because I have a Phenom and all that works is LawlessPPC (10.5.4!!!). I think my next motherboard/CPU will be from Israeltel, not AMD.
