twitchel
Hi all after much hard work, i finally got a dual boot of OSX 10.5.7 and Windows 7 RC going using Charmeleon 2 as the boot loader on my laptop Specs are as follows for reference HP Pavilion DV5 1139tx Core2Duo 2.53ghz 4gig Ram NVidia 9600M GT 512mb 400gig Hard drive 15.4" Screen @ 1280x800 resolution only issues I have are wireless not working (I know tehre are no drivers for this at the moment for the Intel 5100AGN wireless module), left hand side USB ports and my SD card reader can anyone tell me how i can get my USB ports and SD card reader working. its strange how my right USB ports work fine, but not the left ones. Also, I know that my Wifi card wont be supported for a while. Can anyone suggest any PCI Express WiFi cards or USB Wifi Cards that I can get that are supported by mac OSX 10.5.7? One other slight problem is that if i plug a second screen into the laptop, it is not detected at all. I have to reboot the Laptop (haev the screen plugged in before i turn it on) for it to workl properly. Does anyone know of any way to detect any monitors that are attached while the laptop is running (either via HDMI or VGA, HDMI preferred). Both HDMI and VGA work as i said if the screen is plugged in before mac OSX boots. Also, one final thing. My volume slider changes the volume on the mac, but sound still plays even if the volume is right down, and my mute switch seems to not work. Anyone got any ideas about this THe distribution (if that is the correct term, used to playing around with a few linux distros) that I am using is iAtkos v7 Otherwise I am thoroughly enjoying my hackintosh Thanks for any help in advance - Twitchel oh, one thing i forgot to add I cant find any way to lower the mouse sensitivity on my touchpad... I go to keyboard and mouse settings, and teh mouse option isnt tehre for some reason, could be something whacky with my distro :S is tehre a way to change it in terminal? Also forgot to mention, my Webcam isnt working either Also, can anyone tell me how to stop it automounting the other partitions that are on my drive? I dont need to see my recovery partition or my Win7 Bootloader partition on my mac, just the windows partition itself (I have enabled NTFS read and write on windows partition, and only NTFS read on bootloader and recovery partitions) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177897-hackintosh-successful-wifi-left-usb-ports-and-card-reader-not-working/ Share on other sites
deserapis
Did you try iDeneb , from my experience i think v1.4 is best out there for HP Laptop Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177897-hackintosh-successful-wifi-left-usb-ports-and-card-reader-not-working/#findComment-1216181 Share on other sites

phatbass82
I have the exact same laptop. HP Pavilion DV5 1139tx Core2Duo 2.53ghz 4gig Ram NVidia 9600M GT 512mb 400gig Hard drive 15.4" Screen @ 1280x800 resolution Triple booting with Windows 7 RTM 64bit, Ubuntu 9.10 64bit and OS X 10.5.8 (iDeneb) using GRUB2 menu. I tried iAtkos initially - failed to boot. Got sick of trial and error with the kexts in the setup. iDeneb works perfectly. Your volume slider problem - I had that problem with mine initially. I recently performed a complete re-install of all OS's. I found that as soon as I updated iDeneb from 10.5.6 to (10.5.7 to) 10.5.8, the volume control problem didn't happen. I remember when I did update a while ago before the wipe, there were all these strange steps I had to take as I was trying to obtain the updates as soon as they had come out. I think somewhere in that process, it stuffed up. I can only guess the clean install of OS X got rid of that problem. Wireless network - They still haven't developed drivers for it. I have a D-Link USB DWL-G122 adapter I had purchased a while ago (one of the only ones that was compatible with OS X). I just discovered a way of getting the drivers to work. I will be testing this later on today. USB Port - I'm still to find a solution for that one. My mate has the same laptop as me. He managed to find a fix for it, which was unstable. It worked a few times when he plugged devices in. After that, Kernel panic would occur. Webcam - Again, I still have to find a solution for that one. It did work for me I remember when I first installed OS X (through photobooth). After performing some of the updates, I noticed my webcam stopped working. Mouse sensitivity - I won't be able to help you with this one. The iDeneb install for me had all of the mouse options available. Perhaps in your case, you could find the exact kext for the mouse. Monitor problem - I didn't manage to get my external monitor to work. I will have to try your way, plug in and reboot, to see if that works for me. Drive Automount - I couldn't tell you how to do that one. I just did a quick google for it. Appears to be a complex process to disable/enable automount of certain drives. I'm lucky just to have the 3 OS partitions to show up on mine (I removed my autorecover partition ages ago). I'm sorry if this is not much help. Just thought I would share my experiences. I will post anything I discover with the above problems. trabbikevin
Hello, how did you fix the left usb port ? I got the HP DV 7 with following specs: Core 2 Duo 2,26ghz 4gb ram geforce 9600m gt 2x 320gb hdds Hmm.. I installed iDeneb 1.4 and upgraded to 10.5.8 (that's why most of my drivers don't work, need to install them again, but not this problem). The problem I have is: The left usb port is only working if I connect something (not anything, but apple keyboard, mouse, usb stick) before I boot. While running the OSX and after unplugging the device and re-plug-in it, it doesn't work. Can only work if connected before booted OS.. Do you have any solutions ? Oh, and yeah, not every USB device works - I have a Sitecom WL-172 usb wifi stick, it is really old but there are drivers even for snow leopard! But (as usual, stick is plugged in before booting OSX) it isn't shown by the ralink wireless utility! There it says "no device!"... but the stick itself worked without any problems on my old hackintosh with 10.4 and my mother's old P3 desktop (with xp installed xD)... so the problem is not the usb stick but the usb port...). Please, I need help with it..
