May007
Hello everybody! I got an iMac 24" with C2D 3.06 GHz, 2 GB DDR2, 500 GB HDD and 8800GS 512MB. Lately, when I try to boot-up, almost all the time it shows me a flashing question mark and it doesn't boot. Actually, it doesn't recognize the HDD. Well, I read the manual which came with the iMac and I tried the Reset PRAM command (cmd + alt + P + R), but most of the time it still doesn't work. I did an Apple Hardware Test, no error. Also, I started Disk Utility and verified the disk, but it told me that "Macintosh HD appears to be OK." Yes, I know, I could solve the problem by taking the iMac to an autorized center, but I guess as long as the Apple HW Test hasn't discovered any error, I think it's a software problem. I reinstalled OS X and this thing happened even after. Is there any solution besides the warranty? Did anyone met this problem? Thanks! Cottage_Cheeses
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1440 lol read this. Search the web before asking a question, chances are many others have already asked and received an answer to the problem. (not meant to be mean, just telling you) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177871-flashing-question-mark-problem/#findComment-1219171 Share on other sites
