Firewire with 10.5.6

Hi all.

I know this issue have been discussed before but in my case the problem is a bit awkward...

Thanks to the nice guides here I've installed iPc 10.5.6 on my pc. Everything works except the firewire. It appears in the "about this mac", and I can see the devices I connect to it. But I can't use them. Hard drives only shows the main folders and I can't access nor see the files. MY MOTU sound interface is recognized as well, but the sound is "choppy" (it comes and goes) and causes the system to slow down. I've used the firewire-patch during installation and I can "eject" the devices.

 

Any ideas??? Hopefully in this great forum!

 

Hardware:

Asrock 4core 1333-esata2 (bios 1.40) integrated firewire with the mentioned issue

Intel Core 2 Duo 2,33 Ghz

PCI firewire (VIA 6306) also with the mentioned issue

ATI HD2400 pro pcie graphics

MOTU 828 firewire

I had some issues with Firewire and network. The problems boiled down to AppleHPET.kext. I removed this file from my studio computer and it works fine. I'd back up the AppleHPET.kext (it lives in the /System/Library/Extensions folder) and delete it from /S/L/E/, see what happens.
