selggiT
Hi, I just installed iDeneb 1.5 onto my computer. I have two 250gb Hard Drives, Primary one with XP and iDeneb on the second. At first, iDeneb wouldn't recongnize my hard drive, but once I put it into IDE via the BIOS install went fine. Once install was finished, I went into the BIOS and changed hard drive to AHCI, and an boot loop began. XP would say "Windows didn't start correctly... blah blah" then when I would press enter the BSOD would flash for a second and the computer would restart. I then went into the BIOS to change the hard drive back to SATA, but that option wasn't there so I put it into IDE. XP then booted normally. The problem is how to I boot from my other hard drive, where I installed iDeneb?! Do I put the disk back into the computer and boot from the CD? Is there a way you can change what hard drive to boot from the BIOS. Anything will help, kinda urgent. ampAIR
Is there a way you can change what hard drive to boot from the BIOS. Yes there is. In the "Boot" category, there should be something like "Boot Device Priority" and "Hard Drive Priority", just set the drive with iDeneb on top of that. Also, during BIOS-POST there should be the possibility to run a boot menu (usually with F8 key or something like that), the BIOS-messages xhould tell you about this. For details please consider your mainboard's manual. greets sebastian Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177647-ideneb-install/#findComment-1214549 Share on other sites

Because whenever I select the hard drive with Leopard on it, nothing happens. It's just a black screen with a blinking underscore ( _ ) Do I need to reinstall? selggiT
Ok, I did a reinstall. Now when I boot, it takes me to the Chameleon boot loader, and from there I select the hard drive iDeneb is on. From there it gets stuck on the gray screen with a apple logo. What am I suppose to do from there? It's been there for a long time, ten minutes already. GraysonH
The reason you're having problems getting XP running with the AHCI controller might be because XP is set to not work with AHCI out of the box (in order to speed up boot times or something like that.) Go to regedit Local Machine>System>Current Control Set>Services>msahci Right click the "Start" entry under msahci, click Modify, and change the number to 0. I had to do this in Vista, not totally sure if it's the same in XP, but you might as well just check to see if that entry is there... It could also be a totally different issue, I'm just making a suggestion Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177647-ideneb-install/#findComment-1215698 Share on other sites
