Michu Neo
This is my netbook: MSI Wind, 1.5 GB RAM, Intel GMA 950, Atom 1,6 GHz. Issue: Old games are not working (details below) That steps I've already done: I have reinstalled driver, nothing. Then I found that newest gma950 driver with mirroring may have some bugs, so I installed older version. Nothing. Today I have get rid of drivers and installed vanilla ones, with adding proper EFI string (I got full hardware rendering and quartz working), still nothing... All these games I'm talking about (Jazz Jackrabit 2, Fallouts, Diablo II, Airline Tycoon Deluxe, GTA 2 are running 640x480. Do you think it maybe a problem? For example when I've started Diablo II there are some configuration settings, you can test resolutions and so on. Well, 640x480 resolution wasn't working, but 800x600 was (both for thousands and millions of colors). Well, Diablo II is the only perfect game - when it see that I can't run 640x480 resolution, app is automatically setting native 1024x600 and e.g. play intro movies with black boxes around. Leopard itself can't set 640x480 as well (all I see is a black screen for 15 seconds) I don't want to suffer with crossover on this little machine, especially that these games on mac are really fast and battery lasts for quite long time... Much longer than running anything through crossover on this little CPU. It also better to have stretched 640x480 than a little box inside of already tiny 10" display. Why they were working fine before? I had format week ago, used the same installation method as before (usb msiwindosx86.iso) and same drivers... I am so upset that I totally forgot it's 2:30 AM already. So, well, maybe anyone of you use MSI Wind, got these games working well and could tell me what graphic drivers are you using? I would be very grateful for any help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177614-cant-set-640x480-resolution-on-msi-wind/ Share on other sites

Michu Neo
OSX Leopard supports 800x600 as a minimum Nothing less Even if that's true, my PC hackintosh have no problems with setting 640x480 resolution on 22" LCD display (nV 8800 GT). And I've never seen that problem on any other both Macintoshes and Hackintoshes, the 640x480 games just run fine there (even games in 320x240 run fine, like Jazz Jackrabbit). Michu Neo
I've never Been able too go under 800x600 with any Card As you see, it can be done with Nvidia 8800GT 512 with EFI string, monitor: HP w2207h Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177614-cant-set-640x480-resolution-on-msi-wind/#findComment-1215558 Share on other sites
Michu Neo
Found the problem. I had to cleanly reinstall retail OS X, then DO NOT install any GUI installations etc Then I had to apply pure kexts found here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=pl&cli...=Szukaj&lr= ...and apply Intel GMA950 EFI string to apple.boot.com.plist Done. Took me 15 hours to discover that Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177614-cant-set-640x480-resolution-on-msi-wind/#findComment-1216223 Share on other sites
