I'm not sure how the rest of you have fared, but I found that using a PPF1-patched 10.4.6 JaS DVD to upgrade a Myzar 10.4.4/5-.6 upgraded native install is LESS fun than drowning. Mainly due to the SSE3 support from the Myzar build. Although the sheer viciousness of the kernel panic it produces is a sight to behold.

That being said, a fresh install of the DVD using my 4200+/ATI SB400 combo [a.k.a. the bitchiest of the bunch] netted a 10 point XBench increase after I used terminal to repair permissions and deleted the ApplePS2Controller kext. My system is now XBenching a 106, a mere 100 was my goal for this project. This isn't so much bragging as a message of hope for those still caught in b0 hell, etc. I should also mention I had to temporarily move the HDD into Pri/Master and the DVD-ROM into Pri/Slave for this to work without fubaring the boot loader. In all honesty, this was the hardest jump yet, especially with the knowledge that my Myzar 10.4.6 was functioning perfectly [the ATI/IXP-enabled PPF1 DVD ultimately proved too tempting -- no more 1 hour installs!] Another reason for this post is to consolidate several techniques I've run across while searching the forums. If you're stuck out there and can use this, I hope it helps!

Cheers
