Jackthemeangiant Posted May 18, 2006 Share Posted May 18, 2006 I have an Asus Z71V laptop and my sound works after installing 10.4.6, but my headphone jack does not. Sound will only play out of the laptop speakers. When I plug headphones into the headphones jack, the sound stops coming out of the laptop speakers, but nothing comes out of the headphones. My laptop has: "Two Audio jacks : Head phone or SPDIF, Mic-in" "Built-in Azalea compliant audio chip, with 3D effect & full duplex" Windows reads it as a Realtek HD audio controller (ALC880). Now I have tried all the suggestions in teh ALC880 thread already with no luck. I am thinking since the port is used for both headphones or SPDIF, maybe it is set to SPDIF only or something by default? Any help is much appreciated.
