djtrix
I know for sure its a MiniPCI Express card. Just wondering which chipset it is, im guesing its an atheros based card, but i want specific info. Also, do the new Macbooks come bundled with a newer version of OSX than 10.4.6? Perhaps they come pre-installed with new drivers for MiniPCI Express cards. Thanks, Dre Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17725-airmac-extreme-chipset/ Share on other sites

djtrix
AR5006x Sweet!!!! so there must be a newer driver than the AirPortDriverAtheros5424 that ships with these laptops!!!! Its only a matter of time untill i get my paws on that one, and finally my AR5006EXS might work a little better. rollfaster
umm, it uses the same driver as the mbp. the atheros5424 is the same as ar5006x (to the best of my knowledge), just numbered differently in house and out. the ar5424 driver does have reasonable compatability with non-5006 chipsets (that's why osx86ers can use some atheros cards - it works with my ar5002g card), i have no idea how it will affect your card.
