nisto91
I currently have an integrated crappy x1250 on my stock Acer. I want to get a new card and psu. I've been looking at the EVGA 9800GTX+ on newegg. My question is, is this a good option (I know it should work) and is there anything better in the same price range (ATI or nvidia)? Zaap
Is this for a Hackintosh, or strictly a Windows PC? Also what do you need: a gaming card, or just general use? nisto91
It's for Windows and Hackintosh, I'd like a card that's fit for gaming and general use as well. Sorry if I'm asking for too much Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/177102-graphics-recommendation/#findComment-1212152 Share on other sites
pirloui
nVidia has best support, so I would recommend that. 9800GTX+ is working and seems like a nice card: http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/361989-980...ark-thread.html 8800GT/9800GT are also quite fine at a lower price. nisto91
I just opened up my case and it seems that the GTX+ won't fit (10.5'). So the 9800 GT is a good option? Will it work on OS X regardless of the manufacturer? And will it handle games like COD on Vista? pirloui
It will work regardless of manufacturer. It is well supported as Apple has it as an option for the Mac Pro. I can't tell for COD, but it runs Crysis at high settings 2x antialias at 1440x900 smoothly. nisto91
Thanks, that's what I'll be getting then. It's 9 inches so it should fit. All I have to do is get the efi strings and add them to boot right?
