IDKMAC Posted July 29, 2009 Share Posted July 29, 2009 Hey, i have a dell gx270 and for some reason the osx can't seem to see my ide dvd rom drive. There is one sata port on my board which is not used. I can't seem to understand the problem since i was able to install just find using the same ide drive. I used iAtkos 5i 10.5.5. I have been looking for a solutions for weeks now and usually i am able to solve my own problems but this one got be !!!! Thanks Also: nothing in then kernal boots logs seem to show a problems!!!! treminaor Posted August 22, 2009 Share Posted August 22, 2009 The reason that the DVD drive worked during the installation was because it was using drivers loaded by default off of the disc. You didn't select an adequate IDE controller kext for installation, and therefore cannot use your IDE drive post-installation. Figure out what kext your DVD uses by default and install it to your machine using kext_helper beta 7.
