☼Monkee»
Hey everyone. First post here. I thought it would be fitting to be like a load of others and put up a how to install OSX on my so-and-so computer with so-and-so stuff etc etc. Well, this isn't that kind of thread. Since I'm completely new to OSX, I had some queries first. My current config: AMD Opteron 165 @ 2.7ghz. 2GB Corsair XMS DDR @ 400mhz. Asus A8N-SLi Palit GTX260 1xRaptor 36gb ( XP Install ) 2x250GB Barracuda 7200.10 ( one drive contains a 50Gb partition for OSX with HFS+ ) Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty Pro ( don't expect this to work but would be indebted to the person who makes it work ) Sony NEC Optiarc DVD Burner ( Not mine, so I have to solve all my problems quickz cuz my regular DVD drive is an IDE ) Now for the real stuff. I know the install works. Currently dual booting with XP on my Raptor ( well OSX isnt booting, so I guess that doesnt count ) Out of the 8 times or so I installed OSX today, its worked twice. Couldnt get the bootloader to work the first 3 times so I tried the chain0 method and it worked so I guess they shouldnt count. Thing is.. on both the installs that worked, I guess I selected the wrong nvidia drivers cuz the UI was laggy as hell, supported only 1024x768 yadda yadda. And my internet didnt work. Basically, I cannot use my inbuilt MAC address because I set it for another pc on my network ( has to do with the login client for my net only being able to use XP so I spoofed the address on there ) so I need to change that too. Also, I have absolutely zero knowledge on how to install kexts hence wasnt able to fix the ethernet or the graphics drivers after downloading them. Also, my primary keyboard is a PS/2 keyboard and it didnt seem to want to work ( havent tried unplugging my POS usb one though ) in OSX. So I want/need to know what are the proper kexts I should use in the customize section of the installer ( eg, forcedeth for nf4 lan ) for my graphics card and possibly anything else. Thanks a lot in advance. Monkee. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176979-ipc-on-a8n-sli/ Share on other sites
