After much searching I was not able to find any recent threads to help my situation....here's what I did:

I had a windows 7 installation already on my PC, resized the partition to have room for Mac OSX and installed it. Everything is working beautifully but I did have one hiccup...my bootloader. Chameleon v2 will load Mac but not my windows partition. Instead I get a windows bootloader error (see screenshot further down). I was able to fix this issue for my daily use by just repairing my windows mbr and installing easybcd, now when i boot I get a windows bootloader with windows/mac osx options. windows boots windows, mac loads chameleon v2 which then boots mac fine as always but the windows option gives the same error mentioned above (screenshot further down).

I have thus installed and tried vmware, it shows my existing install as a bootcamp system and when started it shows the windows booloader but when I choose it that gives me that same bootloader error.

I found this guide:

Unfortunately on this step:

here you will have a list of your partitions. Please proceed ONLY if you see the HFS+ partition flagged with the * symbol.

my fdisk does not show the HFS+ flagged with *, no further details are given as to what to do to correct this. Not sure if that is important to this situation.

Anyways Here's the screenshot I keep getting:

My guess is whatever is effecting Chameleon is keeping vmware from booting properly, if I could fix that perhaps it would get past this part.

Any suggestions? All help is appreciated...I may never need to go into windows if I get this working

*edit*

the error shown when I try and boot windows from Chameleon is slightly different but the same error code. it points to a winload.exe file?..here's a screenshot of what I get with that:

its been a couple days so I thought I would give this a bump. I work as a web designer and was really hopping to get IE working in unity mode for testing pages. seems silly to setup a virtual machine when I have a perfectly capable partition just sitting there!

thanks again for any help
