Hi,

I'm trying to get osx installed on a pretty standard Dell Optiplex GX280, however i can't seem to find instructions anywhere specifically for this model. The main problem i am having is that i am not sure which options to select in the "customize" option in the install process. I have searched around the forum but i can't seem to find that information anywhere. The other problem i am having is that i'm not really sure whether to use Kalyway or Ideneb. I am currently working with Kalyway 10.5.6 but is there any real difference between them? Thanks for your help in advance and i look foward to working with you guys.

[Edit]

Finished the install but i'm having a strange problem

Some minor details about the system:

Standard GX280 with a Pentium 4 processor and 512MB of ram

1 SATA Harddrive 80GB

1 IDE Hardrive 40GB (OSX drive)

1 IDE DVD Drive

The SATA drive is a pure linux install and the IDE drive which is being used for OSX is partitioned with a 30 GB OSX Journalized partition and a 5GB fat partition.

After installing and selecting the correct HDD the computer just gets beyond the bios loading screen, the screen gets dark and the computer restarts without an error message.

Any ideas why?

[Edit 2]

Well pressing F8 does bring up the boot prompt, but none of the options help (i.e. -s -x -f -v and varying combinations of them)

Could selecting the wrong video options (Intel GMA and Nvidia selected by the way) cause it to crash on boot like this?

sorely confused
