yosh89
Hi, I am running OSX on my PC, have managed to get everything installed (incl. motherboard) and have also managed to install my graphics card (7800GTX) but it will only run if I use VGA (DVI>VGA adaptor). I am wondering, since it runs with VGA there must be a way to run it with DVI? I know performance would increase so much with DVI (mainly decoding H.264 is what I would like). I am using the macvidia Beta 1 Build 5 driver (with nvidia.kext extracted from Beta 2 installer). Could someone point me in the right direction? Has anyone had success installing 7800 with DVI? Thanks, -tom Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17667-how-to-get-dvi-working/ Share on other sites
grim
after installing the macvidia driver beta 2 build 1, i had the same problem, vesa mode worked fine with dvi. the macvidia driver recognized my monitor @ dvi (seen at driver startup in the system messages), but it couldn't use that display. maybe with the next release?? böser hase
i am using a samsung display connected via dvi to a geforce 7800gt and it worked fine all the time - installing 10.4.6 and later on using the beta2 build 1 macvidia driver.
