Crazy Craven
Hey all, I've tried now for around 4 days to get this release installed on my desktop, the installation is always 100% it's the reboot that keeps failing me. Here are my specs: CPU= AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800 (Module 14.08 Physical count = 1 Logical Count = 2) MB= ASUS A8N-VM RAM= 2GB Video= ATI Radeon x1600 (dev_71c2) Ethernet= Nvidia Ethernet (dev_269) HDD: 80GB IDE I have the DVD Rom and IDE HDD on the cable together on one cable. I d/c all other HDD's etc so only the one ide & dvd are connected. BIOS Settings: IDE Configuration>RAID Setup Serial-ATA 1 Controller = Disabled Serial-ATA 2 Controller = Disabled nVidia RAID Function = Disabled NorthBridge Chipset Config>Memory Config Memclock nide = Auto MCT Timing Mode = Auto User Config Mode = Auto Burst Lenght = 4 beats Hardware Memory Hole = Disabled NorthBridge Chipset Config>ECC Config DRAM ECC Enable = Enabled MCA DRAM ECC Logging = Disabled ECC Chip Kill = Disabled DRAM SCRUB REDIRECT = Disabled L2 Cache BG Scrub = Disabled Data Cache BG Scrub = Disabled NorthBridge Chipset Config>Northbridge/Geforce Chipet Config VGA Option = Auto Primary Graphics Adapter = PCI>PCIE>IGP OnChip VGA Frame Buffer Size = 64MB OnChip VGA Trap Enable = Disabled SouthBridge/Nforce Chipset Config PCI Spread Spectrum = Center Spread HT Spread Spectrum = Center Spread Hyper Transport Geforce Config LDT to Geforce (NB) Frequency = Auto LDT to Geforce (NB) LinkWidth = Auto Hyper Transport Nforce Config Nforce to NVIDIA Frequency = 800MHz Nforce to NVIDIA LinkWidth = 8D 8U (D=down U=Up) Onboard Devices Onboard Audio = Disabled Onboard LAN = Enabled Onboard LAN Boot Rom = Disabled 1394 = Disabled PCI Clock Detect = Auto Advanced PCI/PnP Settings Plug and Play O/S = No PCI Latency Timer = 128 Allocate IRQ to PCI VGA = Yes Palette Snooping = Enabled USB Config USB 1.1 Controller = Enabled USB 2.0 Controller = Enabled Legacy USB Support = Enabled USB 2.0 Controller Mode = High Speed BIOS EHCI Hand-Off = Enabled Power Suspend Mode = Auto Repost Video on S3 Resume = No ACPI 2.0 Support = Enabled ACPI APIC Support = Enabled Boot Settings Quick Boot = Enabled AddOn Rom Display = Force Bios Interrupt 19 Capture = Enabled So on installation I've installed using almost all the Kernels (for AMD), I've tried only selecting a kernel in options and left it at that, no matter what I do, when I reboot (some configs of installs it says complete and when I click restarted it hangs on the gray screen with the cursor, left it 30mins no change. When I get a good reboot, it boots and I select F8 and flag -v also tried a bunch of diff flags including cpus=1 and rd=disk-0s1 - still no luck. Tried taking DVD out and rebooting (with this build I sometimes get the little ideneb silver apple logo with the option to press a key for custom boot). My HDD is what never gets detected, it just boots to 'still waiting for root device' Someone please come help me, I'm so frustrated, went 2 nights without sleep trying to figure this out and it's whooping my butt Jumper on HDD is set to Master also. Thanks in advance folks, hope someone can help me out. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176459-ideneb-v15-1057-need-help/ Share on other sites
