crazeeotter
I just installed OS X on my PC, and now I want to import the music from my Windows partition to iTunes in OS X. The only problem is, the Mac partition is not big enough for all my music. Is there a way to play it directly from the windows music folder without coping it? The only problem is, the Mac partition is not big enough for all my music. Is there a way to play it directly from the windows music folder without coping it? Yes, there is. You'll need a read/write driver for your NTFS drive, like NTFS-3G. Then you hold down Option when opening iTunes. It should ask you if you want to choose your library. Navigate to your "iTunes Library.itl" file in your iTunes music folder. Make sure you tell iTunes on your Mac that you'll organize your own folder. I didn't, and something it did to the folder made some files inaccessible in Windows. By the way, I have a Microsoft Windows keyboard, so the button for me is the Start button. I assume that amounts to the Option key on a Mac keyboard.
