I just installed JaS 10.4.6 on my computer, the thing is it stucks on the startscreen on the first boot.

So I searched the web try to a solution.

I found JaS said something about selecting packages on the piratebay torrent page.

but I dont see any sign about selecting a package during the installation.

How can I select the packages I need? before the installation, during or afterward?

any help would be appriciated.

the system is DELL 700M:

PM 2G

1 G ram

Intel 855GME

Hi Giraid,

There's a button "Customize" during install process that let you choose some options or hacks that could be relevant for your hardware, like AMD support or SS3 for SSE2, etc.

JaS 10.4.6 DVD need to be patched before burn and install, but you could be not concerned by this, depending on your harware

Did you try to pass the -x flag at boot? Can you pass the -v flag at boot and tell us which error messages do you have?

HTH,

edav.

I was shockd by the small circle too!

When I reboot the system by -v command, it displayed

"Still waiting for root device" sth like that.

This msg kept showing and the system halted.

Or you may refer to this thread:

PS. I still can't solve this problem now, can any one help?

Thanks for replying everyone.

edav, do you know which patch should I use? I tried to use the JaS.10.4.6.install.DVD.PPF1(290MB), which didnt show any customize button.
