Hi Mac OS X86 Community :D !

As my entrance fee into this great forum I start this posting and contribute a hopefully valuable thread.

I start with the experience on my new Notebook: the Toshiba Satellite P100-191.

Install of 10.4.4 with integrated 10.4.5 update as well as 10.4.6 update from within 10.4.5 went through successfully.

10.4.5/6 Kernel extensions I had to disable to get the system boot up all the way through:

- AppleHPET (was introduced in 10.4.5 a.f.a.I know, no idea what that is for)

- AppleIntel8254XEthernet (for the Intel Pro 1000 PL LAN card)

fully working:

- keyboard

- USB (wireless set: mouse & keyboard; ethernet via USB connected to my Fritz!Box 7050 [Germany]

--> Internet & LAN to my WinXP desktop computer via the hub/switsch in the Fritz!Box)

- CD/ DVD incl. burning

not tested, but appears correctly in the system profiler: Firewire 400

partially working: Graphics Adapter NVidia GeForce GO 7900 GS, only via VESA (1024 x 785 @ 16). No Nvidia kext loads for this rather new card = no accelleratio at all .. :-(

not working:

- LAN Intel Pro 1000 PL

- WLAN Intel pro Wireless 3945 abg

- Audio Conexant High Definition (based on Intel's High Definition Audio Bus Architecture and thus appearing in the system profiler as Intel High Definition Audio)

Dual Booting: YES, with 10.4.6, either the Win or the HFS-partition active (with Partition Magic) to have either the Windows or the Darwin bootloader appear first - both ways work.

The 10.4.3 install booted through "out of the box" without having to disable any extension. However, the 10.4.3 Disk Utility also erased my 10.4.6 partition when preparing the partition for the additional 10.4.3 install .. :-\

TIP: install MacDrive so you can access your Mac partition(s) from Windows. That way you can easily disable/ reenable kexts etc.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It would be great if you guys out there post the experiences with your 17" Notebook in here (very much appreciated if pretty much in the fashion above :whistle: )
Greetz,
Bugs.
