graviahead
Hello fellow x86ers, After several installs with different ISOs, and a few days of heavy forum reading, i finally got osx running on my laptop. Here are my specs: Pentium 4 intel 3.0 Ghz w/SSE2 512MB ram 400 Mhz Gateway PRR motherboard ATI Radeon Mobility M10 (9600/9700 series) sigmatel AC97 audio (5.1 capable) intel Gigabit ethernet Broadcom wifi loaded on a spare 60GB hard drive with single partition An oldie, but good, solid machine. i used Myzar osx86_10.4.4_10.4.5_prepatched_Install_DVD which worked ok, but later settled on XxX_OS_x86_10.4.11_Install_Disc_Rev2 (via seedpeer) for the updates. It currently runs at 1440x900 native resolution with CoreImage and Quartz Extreme support. For this, i did not use any of the graphics drivers on the boot DVD and preferred just a manual install. I followed pheonix3200's guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21182 (note: went with Callisto b003_fixed instead of b006) and ended up not having to do the hexediting steps. Touchpad and keyboard work fine, all USB slots work, sd memory card reader works. I still have a little more progress to make right now with the Wifi not working, but not going to worry too much about that since its a heavy laptop and the battery life sucks anyway. Also, i have no sound so i might do another reinstall and try another sound driver. Beautiful OS! Isn't even the newest version too. Well worth the effort~ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176263-gateway-m675-17-laptop-install/ Share on other sites
