b34td0wnx
Been on a stable install of LawlessPPC for the past couple of days, but I have some minor irritations, and it seems the only possible way to fix these problems is to update to 10.5.5. I've fixed my audio problems, but I'm still having problems with my lan and my graphics card (geforce 9500gt) and I've found working drivers for both pieces of hardware, but it's only supported by the 10.5.5 framework. I tried installing the 10.5.5 directly from Apple's software update, and it installed and everything went fine, but then I got a restart computer error, and it ruined my install. Alright, no problem. Next I looked more into the update, and realised that to get it to install on an amd I needed to patch it, mainly with Zeph's amd patch. Couldn't find a download link for the patch, as all the links had been broken. Afterwards, I found that I could install the voodoo 10.5.5 kernal (although it suggest i be on a 10.5.5 system, but says it would work with lesser) and I did, and it booted up and it installed perfectly, not a single problem. I then install the update from apple, and it installed and everything was fine. I booted up, no problems, until when startup would kick into my desktop - it places me in a light blue screen that looks like one of the default apple desktop backgrounds, and it stays there. Anyone have any ideas how I can get past that blue screen? I've tried booting with -v -f -x and nothing really changed, although bootup time seemed to progress a lot faster. Would going into -s during bootup and deleting graphics kexts fix this? I don't understand why they would interfer, as I installed no graphics driver during setup. thanks in advance for any advice Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/176220-amd-update-to-1055/ Share on other sites
