Hi guys, I'm trying to get a boot-132/retail install up and working on :-

Inspiron 530 (.18 bios)

2.53Ghz E5200

Radeon 3650

3GB DDR2

500GB Seagate Barracuda

SATA controller HAS to be in RAID/ACHI mode (Vista install that's present would be a tremendous pain to rework - long story)

I can boot into the OS install (presently it's unpatched 10.5) bootstrapping with the boot-132 disk, but attempting to boot from the OS disk itself with Chameleon 2.0-R431 (with all the kexts from the boot-132 img in /extra/) installed leads to a boot1: error failure...

What probably completely obvious thing am I missing here?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can throw me.

Oh, the partition is GUID format, HFS+ _not_ case sensitive

I've tried the manual boot1h relocation fix, no joy.

now attempting an install to an MBR partition, as I recall I might have tried this already and the OSX installer basically gave me the finger and refused to install to the partition though :/ -- yep, "you cannot install MacOS X on this volume." ;)

This thing is being a very big headache, patching to 10.5.7 (with the ATA controller in either mode) results in a circle-with-a-cross-through-it hang during the grey apple startup screen :/

If anyone has a way to nail this thing on the first try, so to speak, I'd be glad to hear it.
