My system runs great and i am a music producer so its very important... for about a year i tried to find solution to the firewire not working on my board (Asus P5K),and because of that my ESI QuataFIre 610 didn't worked! i'm writing this because the net is very lack of information about this card and his compatibility in osx! This is what i did that made it worked perfect,i just ordered a PCI-X Firewire card called "Delock 89121" and it worked right out of the box! no kexts and no trouble! just be sure to disable onboard firewire from bios to eliminate any chance of conflicting.
