hal.9000xx
Hi, I have successfully installed Leopard on my PC but every time I want to boot in Leo I have to go to BIOS and change from IDE to ACHI because my Windows XP doesn't support ACHI. So do you know how can I work around this problem. My motherboard is DFI LanParty P-45 DK T2RS and it has JMicron JMB368 SATA-II RAID Controller if it means anything to you. I already had Distro version that worked fine with IDE but this one works way more stable and faster for me. The only problem is that it wont boot while set on IDE in BIOS. Daveta
if you search you'll find the guides to give acpi also to winxp Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175805-ideachi-problem/#findComment-1205500 Share on other sites
hal.9000xx
I did try to find out how to enable ACHI in XP but I couldn't find it. I mean there are few guides out there but non of them really worked for me. So I assumed that it would be easier to enable IDE in Leo then to search for the way to enable AHCI in XP. Hi There is a XP version with SATA AHCI drivers included. You can find it into the Big Chill Giorgio Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175805-ideachi-problem/#findComment-1206058 Share on other sites

I slip streamed AHCI driver by myself but there is a problem though. My computer wont boot CD while in AHCI mode. I used that method with no problem whit an old motherboard but this one just doesn't work that way. It will boot CD in AHCI mode but only if it is blank HD otherwise just passess boot procese of CD and boots into XP from HD. hal.9000xx
Problem solved thanks everyone. Link that yossicl provided unfortunatly didnt work out for me. I guess it is because it was for ICH7, ICH8 and ICH9. I have ICH10R, so I guess that was the reason why it didnt work for me. But I found solution for my problem. Here you can find solution for ICH10 if anyone needs it: http://forums.hexus.net/hexus-hardware/112...h9-ich9r-4.html Thanks again for your help Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175805-ideachi-problem/#findComment-1206710 Share on other sites
