10.4.5 Universal Install DVD- Install ok but won't boot

Installs ok but hangs up on network tried to disable but still hangs- Couldn't alloc class "com_apple_driver_RTL8139"

Still waiting for root device

 

Hardware = Asus P5P800-MX 512 ram 80gig SATA WD Celeron D 2.8
