hailstorm350
Hey there, so I've had an issue where the DVDs would load, but they would all fail halfway through the installation. I was advised to test my memory with memtest86, and sure enough the ram was almost completely faulty. Now we removed what we think to have been the faulty stick, and are now getting the kernel panic which never happened before. Here's the pic. Notice the panic for this one is: Kernel trap But the usual panic a few times before with different distributions, was Panic: cannot find driver for "ACPI" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/175518-kernel-panic-cant-get-any-install-dvd-to-load/ Share on other sites

hailstorm350
Before I did such things as test the memory sticks, and reset to the MOBO defaults, I never had this problem, even with the broken ram... hailstorm350
Alright now I just get this kernel panic every time I start the computer, no matter which ram is in the computer. Maybe the motherboard is on its way out? Pericles Silva
My friend, hello! I think you removed some important part of your system. Did you have a backup or remember what files you remove it? Try to boot using your install DVD, in Utilities go to Terminal and copy your backup (if you have). Bye!
