post install loop

hi all,

 

im having a slight problem with post install of iPC 10.5.6

 

It starts up fine, i see the mouse cursor and pinwheel in the top left corner, i am unable to move it, kind of like the mouse (trackpad) wasnt installed, yet it worked with the installer.

 

I had pretty much a stock install except i chose to install the x3100 Intel drivers

 

the screen cycles between grey/black/blue color backgrounds and as i said the mouse in the top left, not moving and occasional pinwheel.

 

the last time i had issues it was the setup assistant, anyone think this is a similar problem?

 

if it is how do i get my mouse working?

im also having problems with  pressing f8 once the install has finished, it doesnt seem to have a bootloader on the HD, booting without the cd in just repeats please insters bootable disk (or words of that ilk) i havent chosen the  chameleon  bootloader just the default EFI 9 one, could this be the problem?

 

the readme says that not choosing one will install the default bootloader.
