I have the same problem, a have tryed diferents versions of Mac OS X (10.4.1,10.4.3,10.4.4,10.4.6) and always I have the same problem.

I tryed the mac driver of Realtek Web site and does'nt work.

Also I have a Surecom PCMCIA Ethernet Card (Realtek 8139) and works fine, but I need: 1. Go to system preferences, 2. Net,3 select my pcmcia card and press aply.

¿Is usefull for anybody?

I have a Notebook from UNIWILL 259EN3 and the ethernet card is built in.

Everytime I open my network settings, it says: New Port Detected.

if save my settings, it disable my current connection and start a new one.

It seems nobody is interested in this question, or maybe it was solved and I can't find the solution in the forum.

I really don't know what to do. Any suggestion will be appreciated.

For notebook, you can do nothing not like desktop.

Using IntelD945GNT, I find network not work then buy <HK$40(=US$5) network card and plug. OK.

And sound also not work; I don't know how to patch because I use PC before.

I read many post find that USB sound will work no problem so buy Creative external USB HK$380.

May be Philip USB can work just for HK$280.
