On the middle of the screen, it has an square with a X on it. Is it because of my machine??? I'm trying to installed it on a Dell 2350 with P4 1.8 GHZ. Colonel Posted May 16, 2006 Share Posted May 16, 2006 Try booting in verbose mode. When the darwin bootloader comes up press F8, type -v, and press enter. That should tell you what exactly is wrong. frauckers Posted May 16, 2006 Share Posted May 16, 2006 i had the same problem, caused by the installers inablity to see my hard drives. i would get a "still waiting for root device" error when loading in verbose mode. i eventually had to use the 10.4.6 jas patched dvd mounted and install thru vmware. of course, it really depends on what error msg you get... you have checked to make sure you have either SSE2 or SSE3, right? (which would be step zero on the before mentioned setup guide...)
