Has anyone had any success with this? I've tried the iDeneb combo update, but this leaves me with a non-bootable system every time with all three available kernels. Here's what I've got for hardware:

Asus M3A-H HDMI

Athlon X2 4600+ (2.4GHz)

8GB Kingston DDR-2 800MHz

Sony/Optiarc SATA Dual Layer DVD/RW

(2) 320GB Seagate SATA-II HDD's

  • Drive One: GUID Partitioned, Primary Drive
  • Drive Two: GUID Partitioned, Configured for Time Machine

nVidia GeForce 7600GS 512MB PCI-E (modified ROM to support full memory amount and QE/CI)

All of my hardware is working, and the OS appears to be completely stable and functional, but I'd like to update to 10.5.7 if that's at all possible.

Thanks in advance!

OK. Listen carefully.

First, we're going to update to 10.5.6:

Download Universal OSX86 Installer: http://######.com/downloads/UInstaller_1.2.zip

Download OSX86 Tools: http://osx86tools.googlecode.com/files/OSX...ols_1.0.150.zip

Download Combo Update 10.5.6: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_..._6_Combo_Update

DO NOT RUN IT YET.

First, install the first two.

Open Terminal, fill in commands:

sudo -s

while sleep 1;

do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext;done

DO NOT CLOSE TERMINAL, JUST LET IT STAY LIKE IT IS NOW (You should see a blinking cursor on a blank line)

Now run the Combo Update. DO NOT RESTART IF ASKED!

Go back to Terminal, make a new terminal window (DO NOT CLOSE THE OTHER ONE)

type: nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1

DO NOT DO ANYTHING.

DO NOT RESTART.

Open OSX86 Tools.

Check repair permissions

Set kext permissions

clear extensions cache

Now, close both Terminals. (or just do a quit)

|if there are errors, i'm sorry, but then it seems to not work on your pc.|

Now, restart. Use -v to see if any errors occur. If none, continue to update to 10.5.7:

Follow the exact same process as before, but use the combo updater of 10.5.7 now: http://support.apple.com/downloads/Mac_OS_..._7_Combo_Update

I do not know if it works, i haven't tried it out yet.
