jonathanthemacidiot
Hello everyone I have installed the MacOS X Tiger v.10.4.6 for X86 on my HP PC. The install goes with out any problems. Well not sure if its a problem, but at the very end when it is finished and asks you to click on the reboot button, it never reboots. I have installed the MacOS on its own hard drive. A 250 gig SATA drive. When I reboot the system I use the built in boot selecter on my computer. When I select the Mac drive all I get is a flashing cursor in the upper left hand corner of the screen. No matter how long I let the system sit it doesnt boot up, just sits there with the cursor. I have tried formating the drive as a mac partition and dos drive. Either way I go the install goes fine with the exception of the reboot hang. I have installed the MAcdrive 6 and I can view the drive within XP. But I am at a total loss. belgrano
Do not worry just yet for that not rebooting issue. You can fix that later. For now if you want to reboot, press reset button or power button for at least 5 sec. As for the other, more important problem, reboot (), choose Mac at the boot screen and type -v. Take a piece of paper and write down the last few lines before it hangs.... (or take a picture of the screen and upload it here) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17462-i-have-no-idea-what-to-do/#findComment-121846 Share on other sites
Thangsang
Use only PATA as SATA is not yet supported even in 10.4.6 so try removing the SATA and make a fresh install to a PATA HDD Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/17462-i-have-no-idea-what-to-do/#findComment-121886 Share on other sites

I have a mobo with Intel 865 chipset and SATA HDD works flawlessly. Oh, and 10.4.5... im.allan
I got exactly the same problem. Install is flawless until the end where it doesnt reboot, even if you leave it from the time you go to work til you get back from the office, what a pity. It's the same old picture on my screen! (except for my electricity bill) AND, if you actually try to reboot before the installation even begins (quiting just right before you press the CONTINUE button to start installation) it actually wouldn't reboot either! Tried to manually reboot and it just goes to a rebooting cycle.
