hatydu
hey guys ,this one 's for ati 3670 mobility radeon, for dell studio xps 16 1640 , I bet there are lot of them out there , need qe/ci to work to install FCP. I have installed Iatkos v7 iatkos v7 or 10.5.7 has drivers( x2000 kext and atirdrv, atirdrv,ati2000gl etc , it's mentioned in the infolist) mentioned here also http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...aded&start= but when I checked natit kext infolist of 10.5.7 , the infolist of natit mentions only intel gma 950 but the natit kext that came with ATI_ NEW which I downloaded somewhere in this thread , and in that downloaded both natit and 2000x kext has my cards device id 1002 9593 mentioned , but the 10.5.7 driver x2000 kext has newer driver version 1.44 something where as the at_new has 1.34 version or something , what should i go for after removing the extensions 1) installing both natit and x2000 and other x2000 drivers of ati_new 2) mix and match of natit of ati_new of and driver x2000 and other supporting X2000 DRIVERS of 10.5.7 3) or only try x2000 of 10.5.7 with netkas pkg http://netkas.org/?p=104 to download ATI_NEW http://www.zshare.net/download/504041631197033f/ and try and post the results for all `ati 3670ers' or throw show some light on it , thanks BTW the driver infolist and and nait infolist list mentions the strings for ati 3670 as ` vanilla'. so does that mean do we have to install with vanilla kernel only ? any `dell studio 16 xps brother' out there ? When I tried few days ago, it got stuck during DVD boot (not after install but during initial boot) on the disk recognition saying "Waiting for root device....". All my attempts to move further failed, even after I specified "-v rd=disk1s6" at the boot propmt of the DVD. Did you do something more to make it install, some BIOS fiddling or? I didn't , as mentioned somewhere , my notebook is not on me for time being and i'm working on my desktop. i had kalyway 10.5.2 on it but qe/ci didn;t . now i have iatkos v7 wihere it looks like it has drivers i don't have that notebook and in the meanwhile . iasking people if they had success because as soon as my notebook arrives . i install on it without wasting time.. BT somebody on that thread here by the name `southernlights' , installed Iatkos v7 on it ,but no qe/ci ask him. he is here , http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1207163 . he asked asked uphuck on his site in their forum and that is the advise upheck ( creator of this distro) gave him `Main system Chameleon V2 DSDT /extra Appledecrypt smbiosenabler disabler OHR Graphic driver.....Don´t choose anything, you should look for your driver later. southernlights
hatydu - I have tried every combination of the kext files and nothing. I can load the Natit from the ATI_new and then it comes up in system profiler with the 3670 (vanilla) etc... I am able to enable QE from OSx86 tools but it still is stuck at 1024x768 and not able to run some programs as it says they are not compatible with the graphics card. As everyone keeps saying that the Mobility Radeon cards are not compatible, I think we are just SOL! as far as install, dual booting with Win 7 and iA v7. I had issues for awhile but finally got it up and running. Originally had used Parted live to reformat my new partition as hfs+, then when I was in the install, i ran disk utility and choose hfs+, so it put my disks4 as type extended and then added the hfs+ as disks5. I eventually reformatted the disks4 as fat32, then when using disk utility, choose the hfs+ and haven't had issues since. Also, I had to boot with -v cpus=1 and I was good. I also burned the disk again at 1x speed. Hope that helps Other that, I followed Pere suggested settings on uphuck and I was good. Hopefully someday we will get the magic 3670 kext solution but I am not holding my breathe. Not that my notebook is back and i have had success with it , just curious that - did you remove the extensions , from the extensions folder before installing the kexts . i can only suggest combos if u missed any . after the fresh install not checking ati hd drivers , first- copy all the ati drivers(kexts) of 10.5.7 from the extension folder to a separate partition/drive . then move those extensions from extensions folder to trash. 1st combo - first install natit and kext from at_new ( all starting from x2000 all before restart) ,( if it doesn't work , again remove the extensions from the extensions folder to trash ,you will have to remove the extensions everytime before trying the new combo ) 2nd combo - natit of ati_new and drivers of 10.5.7 ( all x2000) even if that doesn't go right, then 3) try aty_init pkg multiple card enabler of netkas and driver of 10.5.7 4) netkas, only 5) only all x2000 of 10.5.7 if it doesn't, we are waiting for good `snow'y fall and winter BTW i burn the iso image files with magiciso slowest speed (windows) , or titanium toast ( os x) , or windows 7 inbuilt iso burner only once windows 7 inbuilt burner showed error but otherwise never had a problem with windows 7 default speed also . but i would go along with magiciso/power iso slowest speed for more reliability Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/174593-some-people-have-ati-3670-too/#findComment-1208434 Share on other sites

If so, what are the resolutions options you are seeing and are you able to see the QE/CI enabled. i am itching, any luck on the wireless? I was able to get the bluetooth which I can tether to cell phone, also ethernet but no wireless.... If so, what are the resolutions options you are seeing and are you able to see the QE/CI enabled. i am itching, any luck on the wireless? I was able to get the bluetooth which I can tether to cell phone, also ethernet but no wireless.... as I mentioned `Not that my notebook is back and i have had success with it' .I'm suggesting from a distance without trying myself as notebook is not on me for time being or maybe I'll go for another one with nvdia card go for some nvidia card notebook as nvidia cards seem to get along better with osx or referring `HCL OS X'86. I took it for editing reasons for FCP as i was getting the good deal from a known dealer, a friend in the meanwhile I returned it after keeping the notebook installing osx kalyway for 1-2 days, couldn't get qe/ci working and started this thread. now that i have Iatkos 10.5.7 , I don't have that notebook to try I 'll still have the option of taking it back and it will be based results on this forum or someone being successful . I'm suggesting things that i would do . i hope you got the picture.
